2018 has been a full year. It's been difficult to see the moments between the busyness of life and work. But here and there I've found myself taking images that might not be seen by anyone but myself. I've decided to start this year in review out by sharing a few of these images that are not for any project or client. Some of them, even while taken on location for work, stand out as pieces that don't really belong anywhere but my own mind.
Work wise, 2018 has been mostly about fields and food and museums. I've learned lots, I've eaten lots, I've taken photos that make my clients and myself happy. What a gift to get paid for documenting people doing what they love to do. Here are some of the highlights.
"To this love, we give our work" - Wendell Berry
2018 has seen a sweet baby turn into a smart and headstrong three-nager in our house. We've celebrated weddings and grieved losses with family and friends. And we've enjoyed visits from love ones and trips to beautiful places.
I was just reminiscing this week that the first 17 years of my life seemed to move much more slowly than the past 17yrs and how the next 17 already feel like they're flying by. What a gift to be able to capture our life, to pause the moments that seem to speed past.
